Tour deja vu

Today I went on a Capitol tour as a tourist. It was a surreal experience. After giving a million and one of them as an intern, I had to stop myself from interrupting our guide on no less than five occasions. And that was in the first 10 minutes.

After I made sure my sister’s boat neighbors and their parents were in good hands, I went rushing back to work because my lunch hour had ended about 26 minutes before. But not before I stopped by my favorite little side hallway with the best view of the dome from underneath:

Technically I wasn’t allowed back there anymore since I didn’t have a badge, but my trusty Walk Like You’re Supposed to Be There routine worked like a charm. It’s actually alarming to me sometimes the places that will work.
