My favorite part of the new 2-serving Spinach Artichoke Dip Lean Cuisine is the last sentence of step one in the cooking instructions: “Place box with other serving back into freezer.”
That part was written for me. I have resisted buying the 2-serving Lean Cuisines for several months now cause, knowing myself as I do, I knew that I would turn 2 servings into 1 approximately 96.8 percent of the time (while at the back of my mind also dwelling for a moment on the fact that my dining experience is of the only-one-serving-required variety at present).
Except Lean Cuisine knows of my complete lack of any willpower whatsoever. They have made millions of dollars based on the premise that I will pay someone to pre-package dinner in a small, low-calorie, microwaveable box just to outsmart my ability to rationale that third helping. They also know that I am an obsessive follower of all rules and/or instructions. So they put that subtle command right there on the box in a brilliant maneuver to save me from myself. Because they truly care about my well being.
Now that we’ve taken care of that worry, I’m going to focus on the fact that I just spent three paragraphs and 20 minutes writing about Lean Cuisines. At one in the morning.
