Saving the world one sheep at a time

It’s 3 in the morning and I’ve been traveling for 8 and a half hours so if this is in a language other than English I apologize.

I was shocked when I realized yesterday that my direct flight from DC to San Francisco was over six hours long – I might as well be flying to Europe! I don’t think it had ever truly sunk in just how far away The Best Friend and I live from each other until that moment.

So I was very excited tonight when I saw the individual screens on each seat when I boarded the plane. My flight to London last year went by in a flash because of all the movies available to watch. Sadly I soon realized that each movie on this flight came with an $8 price tag. In a cruel twist, the only thing that was free was the TV shows. Not helpful.

Luckily I had brought several books and The Android’s Dream turned out to be a lifesaver as I read it cover to cover during the flight:

  1. It was Virgin America Larry – apparently they take the long way around! After my return trip, the three-book policy seems to be a very good idea. Android’s Dream was really good, and yes it is a P.K. Dick reference although the book itself has nothing to do with Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? besides the fact that it is about a sheep.

Snickers has been properly reminded, hopefully she will be able to make the trip up sometime!

So much for Marion High School Geography classes. I’m figuring you had to be on JetBlues. If it’s any consolation, the flight back will probably be only 5 hours.

I ALWAYS take three books on cross-countries in case one of them bores me. I’m intrigued by Android’s Dream… is it a P.K. Dick reference? (Don’t answer til you’ve had lots of sleep.)

Remind Snickers she’s on my bucket list!
