My adrenaline did not make it to the 4th game.

I know I’ve said several times how tired I was from my various sports. But this time? This time it’s for real. I’m not sure I’ve ever gotten this much exercise in one day before in my life. Not even that time I ran 10 miles.

Most of it came from the odd format of the games in an indoor soccer tournament I was playing in. All three were 30 minutes straight with no halftime on a huge, almost regulation outdoor field, but with only 6 players and a goalie. I was my normal never-subs-out self for the first 15 minutes of the first game and that turned out to be a huge mistake as I never fully recovered. Since I play midfield I pretty much didn’t stop running, alternating between jogging and sprinting, for the whole 15 minutes. Bad idea.

After the third game was over I was so exhausted that walking to my car seemed like a giant obstacle to overcome. Then I realized that I still had time to make it to my 5 p.m. hockey game and without me they might not have any subs. You can probably guess whether or not I went.

Let’s just say my hockey jersey had more energy than I did:
