Day 3: Bourbon Street, Beignets, Anchorage

I’m currently on a 5,000 mile road trip through 15 states with Cecily. The following is an excerpt from today’s post on our blog, destinationinspiration2012.com.

We said goodbye to Atlanta after too short of an acquaintance and headed south towards New Orleans. A few hours later and we could check three new states off our list – Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The further we drove, the hotter it got and the happier we were that we’d chosen to wear shorts for the first time on the trip.

Around 3 p.m. we made it to New Orleans and Cecily’s friend Will whisked us away for a whirlwind tour. He was an excellent guide, pointing out each neighborhood as we drove by. We parked by the French Quarter and explored by foot for a while, including a walk down Bourbon Street.
